I had the singular honour of finally meeting in person my good friend, Dotun, with whom I have maintained a wonderful relationship over the past few months. A relationship that has involved quite a bit of persistent follow-up, lobbying and some friendly pressure on my part as I continue to seek opportunities for young people in Edo State.
It was a very productive engagement. We discussed opportunities for deeper collaboration and some exciting initiatives the AHK is looking to roll out in 2027. We are looking forward to translating these conversations into meaningful partnerships and tangible opportunities for our young people.
A few months ago, through my contacts at the German Consulate, I was introduced to AHK Nigeria. I reached out, established a connection and, since then, it has been a rewarding relationship. Through this engagement, several opportunities have been shared with me, which I have, in turn, circulated across my network. I am particularly pleased that some young people from Edo State have successfully benefited from these opportunities.
This is exactly the kind of network-building and partnership development we must continue to pursue: connecting our young people to opportunities beyond their immediate environment, equipping them with relevant skills, encouraging entrepreneurship and creating pathways to economic independence.
I remain committed to attracting more of these opportunities to Edo State and ensuring that our young people are not left behind. We must continue to invest in their potential, promote skills acquisition and enterprise development, and build resilient communities where young people can thrive.
To everyone from Edo State who has benefited from these opportunities, congratulations! I encourage you to make the most of them, continue learning and become ambassadors of similar opportunities for others.
